Intern-therapists are pre-licensed clinicians working towards their CA state license. They have received their Master’s Degree in Counseling and are approved by and registered with the state of CA to provide mental health treatment under the supervision of licensed mental health workers. For more info about how the state regulates interns, click here.
As part of my vision for helping people, I employ intern-therapists. My goal is to train top-notch clinicians, AND to offer counseling to people who need and want it, but cannot otherwise afford the full-fees associated with licensed therapists.
To this end, I am proud to introduce Steffanie Brooks-Alayza. |

“I believe in lifelong learning—that its never too late to make positive changes in our lives. I am passionate about growth and healing especially in the areas of divorce recovery for individuals and families, building strong parenting & co-parenting skills, and restoring intimacy with couples. I support your journey of healing and empowerment when resolving inner child issues that hinder relationships and spirituality due to a difficult childhood or trauma. “I take a collaborate approach, using cognitive techniques to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger and grief. This helps my clients understand their negative motivators and gain self-awareness in order to build coping and communication skills. I’ve had a variety of life experiences and personal growth that have contributed to my ability to be insightful and empathize with my clients right where they are.” |
