NGCS does not participate in any insurance plans—this means you are responsible for payment each session. NGCS does not bill insurance companies.

Many people have insurance plans that reimburse them for therapy – these are often called PPO plans. They work like this: you pay NGCS in-full for each appointment; at the end of the month, NGCS bookkeeping sends you a statement showing what you have paid; you submit the statement along with a claim form to your insurance company; they mail a check directly to you.

You will need to find out the following information from your insurance carrier:

1. Will my plan reimburse me directly when I go to an out-of-network providers? NGCS is always considered out-of-network.

2. Does my plan cover mental health benefits?

3. What are the terms of my plan—when will they kick in?

4. What paperwork does my insurance carrier require? This is usually a one-page claim form that the carrier provides to you.

NGCS bookkeeping usually emails monthly statements on the first Friday of the month. The statement will have all the relevant information that your insurance carrier will want, including a diagnosis. If your insurance restricts any diagnoses, notify NGCS about this before seeking reimbursement.

Complete the paperwork your insurance company requires (usually a one-page form) and include any statements from me. Make certain that you fill out your insurance claim so that you are the one getting reimbursed. Otherwise, the company will issue a check payable to NGCS, and this will be sent back to them, delaying your reimbursement by weeks or months.
